Having access to a billionaire mentor changed how I think about business at every level. These are the five lessons that had the biggest impact on my results.
1. Speed of Implementation Beats Perfection
He told me: “The fastest person wins, not the smartest.” In business, the company that executes fastest captures the market. Stop perfecting and start shipping.
2. Buy Back Your Time
He calculates his time at $10,000/hour. Anything that can be done by someone else for less than that, he delegates immediately. Most entrepreneurs waste their most valuable asset — their time — on $20/hour tasks.
3. Build Assets, Not Income
Income is what you earn today. Assets generate income tomorrow without your direct involvement. Content libraries, email lists, trained teams, documented systems — these are assets. Focus on building things that compound.
4. Your Network Is Your Net Worth
Not in a cheesy motivational poster way. In a practical way. The rooms you’re in determine the opportunities you see. He spends over $500K a year on masterminds and events specifically for the connections.
5. Simplicity Scales, Complexity Kills
His biggest businesses all have simple models. One core product, one core customer, one core channel. The urge to add complexity is the enemy of scale.
Every one of these lessons applies whether you’re at $0 or $10M. The fundamentals don’t change — the scale does.
